Arctic Cat Recalls Atvs & Snowmobiles
for Steering Problems
How
would you like those Atv handlebars to come off in your hands
while driving around the off road hills? It might happen if you’re
driving a dangerous Arctic Cat lemon all terrain vehicle.
Arctic Cat is recalling its 90cc DVX and Utility
model all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) because of handlebar and
suspension problems.
Do you own one of these suspected lemon ATV’s?
- 2007 DVX Youth Model 90 cc
- 2007 Utility Youth Model 90cc

Turns out that the handlebar base mounting
bolts, tie-rod ends and tie-rod adjustment locking nuts on
the recalled Atv’s may not have been tightened to the
proper torque during the production process. According to
safety officials at the US
Consumer Product Safety Commission, driving the ATV could
cause parts to come loose and that can send you tumbling
if you lose steering control.
The recall includes 2007 model 90cc DVX youth
model ATVs with a VIN between RFB07ATV07K6F0243 through RFB07ATVX7K6F0752,
and 90cc Utility youth model ATVs with a VIN between RFB07ATV07K6D1367
through RFB07ATVX7K6D2400.
These ATV’s are intended for used by
drivers that are under 12 years old. The 90cc DVX model was
being made in Lime Green or Red, and had the model name DVX
90 on each side of the fuel tank, and the name “Arctic
Cat” on each side of the seat. The 90cc Utility model
was made in Marsh Green or Red, and has the name Arctic Cat
on each side of the fuel tank and 90 on each side panel,
near the driver’s leg position.
The units were manufactured in Taiwan and sold
by Arctic Cat dealerships nationwide from August 2006 through
January 2007 for about $2,200.

If Arctic Cat isn’t careful, it could
steer its way into a financial disaster.
In May 2006 Arctic Cat recalled its
Arctic Cat Prowler XT Off-Highway Utility Vehicles due to
leaking brake fluid. Some people are wondering if the manufacturer
building a checkered
safety history with its increasing frequency of recalls?
