Defective voltage regulators can short circuit and start
a fire, report Federal safety officials, on certain Big Dog
motorcycles listed above. The bad regulators were reported
to be built for Big Dog bikes by the Phelon Company.
Big Dog admitted to federal regulators that they didn’t
know which bikes in the model years were built with the bad
parts and which bikes may have good parts, so they are all
being recalled for inspection and any regulators built before
December 13, 2005 will be carefully checked over. The “build
date” of the motorcycle itself is apparently not the
date that matters.
If you own a lemon Big Dog Bulldog or another Big Dog lemon,
you may be entitled to your money back or a new vehicle.
