The popular sedans are equipped with air filters that could
catch fire, according to federal safety investigators. Nissan
says the actual chance of a real fire is small. On the other
hand, if you’re in the car when it catches fire, it’s
a different story for you personally!
The recall involves 2007 Altima vehicles with 4 cylinder,
2.5 liter engines made between September 2006 and May 2007
at the Nissan Smyrna, Tennessee plant. Another batch of the
suspected lemon Altimas were made between October 2006 and
May 2007 at Nissan’s Canton, Mississippi plant.

If you’ve got a dangerous Nissan lemon, don’t
go it alone! Nissan hasn’t had an easy model year on
recalls.
Almost 10,000 Maxima 2007 vehicles were recalled when it
was discovered that their “intelligent” ignition
keys could be turned off at the wrong time, accidentally
locking the steering wheel in the wrong place. Meanwhile
some 2007 Quest vehicles were recalled out of fear that bolts
may not have been tightened down properly. A total of nearly
30,000 Nissan 2007 Versa vehicles were recalled for brake
and seat belt defects.
Got a lemon Nissan Altima, lemon Maxima, lemon Quest, or
a lemon Versa? Tired of sipping the service department’s
coffee? Or putting money into the service department’s
soft drink machine while you wait for Nissan mechanics to
figure out your latest malfunctions? You don’t have
to put up with it any longer.
