Federal safety investigators have learned that the fuel
tank is mounted to the chassis with tabs that are spot welded
to the tank and that repeated stress can crack the tank where
the tabs are welded, allowing fuel to leak. Leaking fuel
can start a fire, making for a serious safety problem!
The A1 was also the subject of two prior recalls for engine-locking-up
(a problem that affected other Kawasaki motorcycles too)
and muffler-falling-off dangers.
