You are entitled to a free copy of your credit record once a year. To order your free reports, you can call the official toll-free number, (877) 322-8228, or you can go to www.annualcreditreport.com where you can order your reports directly. You can also buy your credit report from Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. These are the “big 3" credit reporting agencies who control practically all the US credit records.

If you see a mistake or anything suspicious, dispute it. To download a free “Correct My Credit Record!” dispute letter, click here. Once you dispute it, the credit bureau must investigate it and either verify it is accurate or remove it within 30 days and also tell you which they did. If they don’t, then you can make them do it and collect damages money. You don’t have to pay us either because the law allows us to make them pay the legal costs too!
