Toyota Recalls 29,000 Scions TCs for Airbag Danger
Do
you own a 2006 Toyota Scion TC?
Be careful how hard you close the doors on
your 2005 Scion TC and your 2006 Toyota Scion TC vehicles. Turns out
that the side airbags and curtain airbags may deploy if the car door
is closed with too much force. Your Scion could be a dangerous lemon!
Federal
safety investigators have issued a warning that the airbags "could
cause personal injury if an occupant is seated on the same side of the vehicle
as that door that is closed" with too much force.
Airbags can accidentally deploy when the door is slammed shut
with the ignition in the on position or within 90 seconds of turning the
ignition key from the on position to the off position.
The airbags are apparently so sensitive that federal safety officials are advising
Scion TC owners to be careful and use only minimal force to close the doors.
If you’ve got a dangerous lemon,
don’t go it alone!
If you own a lemon, you may be entitled to your money back or a new vehicle.
