Volvo Recalls 38,700 Vehicles
for Stalling Defects
Do you own one of these potential lemon Volvo vehicles? A lemon S60 or lemon V70 vehicle?
- 2003 Volvo S60
- 2003 Volvo V70
- 2004 Volvo S60
- 2004 Volvo V70
The suspected stalling Volvo vehicles were built in various
time frames between August 2002 and March 2004 in Volvo’s
Gent and Torslanda plants. Although federal safety investigators
were not notified of the recall until May 2007, Volvo actually
started its investigation way back in February 2006. Volvo
did not explain the reason for the long delay.

The fuel pressure sensor located on the left end of the
fuel rail may, at times, send the wrong signal about the
vehicle’s fuel pressure to the engine control module.
If the signal is not what the computer expects then the vehicle’s
check engine warning system will light up.
The soldered joints on the circuit board of the fuel pressure
sensor are the root cause and may crack due to temperature
changes and excessive vibrations. That can cause the engine
to misfire and that may lead to engine stalling. If it happens
while you’re on the interstate highway when it happens,
it can get dangerous real fast.
If you own a lemon Volvo S60 and V70 or another Volvo lemon,
you may be entitled to your money back or a new vehicle.

Just months ago some Volvo S60 and V70 model lines were
recalled as part of a massive brake defect recall covering
9 different vehicle manufacturers when the manufacturer of
master brake parts reported to federal safety investigators
that it had discovered defects in its brake systems supplied
to Volvo and others.
If you’ve got a dangerous lemon, don’t go it
alone!
