Harley has announced that some Harley Dyna and Harley Sportster
motorcycles were built between October 26 and October 30,
2006 at Harley’s Kansas City plant with the wrong front
tire when they left the factory. The bikes were not designed
and have not been tested for performance with these wrong
tires and could lead to an accident. The correct model tire
is number 100190-19 but some motorcycles were built with
a model tire number 90190-19 on the front.
Although the error was apparently discovered on October
31, 2006 Harley Davidson personnel waited to give official
notice to federal investigators until sending a letter dated
January 24, 2007.
