Federal Safety
Investigators say that the design of the steering idler
arm can allow snow and ice to accumulate and that can cause
loss of control. The result? A very big danger of accident
that can cause injury or death, obviously.
The snowmobiles were sold nationwide from June 2006 to September
2007, priced between $7,000 and $8,000, more or less. The
defective snowmobile Yamaha units were built in Japan.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission warns that owners
should park the snowmobiles until the warranty repairs are
completed on each lemon snow mobile.
